UK housing market ‘flatlines’ ahead of Brexit - Plus a daily roundup of all the key property news

A daily roundup of all the key property news.The housing market is "pretty much flatlining" amid growing concerns about Brexit and political uncertainty, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors' said in its report for July. Some 69% of property professionals said that sales prices were coming in below asking prices for homes marketed at more than £1m.

Approved: change of use of light industrial building to 7 flats in Bournemouth

BCP Council (formerly Bournemouth): Darryl Howells, a director of the firm, has recently secured Prior Approval to convert a former light industrial building (Use Class B1(c)) to seven self-contained flats with zero car parking. The client instructed Creative Building Designs to prepare the plans, but asked Darryl to submit the planning application.

Scotland now fastest place to sell a home - Plus all the latest property news

A daily roundup of all the key property news. Scotland has overtaken London as the fastest place for a seller to find a buyer for their home. In 2014, it took 36 days in London on average to secure a buyer, but this rose to 60 days by last year, according to new figures compiled for the BBC by Rightmove. In contrast, the average time to secure a buyer fell from 66 days to 41 days over the same period in Scotland.

London prime property recovers slightly - Plus a daily roundup of all the key property news

A daily roundup of all the key property news.Prices in London’s prime property areas are now 3.1% higher than they were at the end of 2018, according to the latest London Prime Property Index by private bank Coutts, which indicates that though sales activity picked up 21.4% on the previous quarter - the number of prime properties on the open market is down 12.5% on last year.

Pure Town Planning-Won on appeal: bin store alternative for flats in Bournemouth

BCP Council (formerly Bournemouth):  Darryl Howells has secured a successful appeal against a decision of the Council to ‘refuse’ an application to vary drawings numbers to allow for alternative bin provision for a flatted development in a conservation area.   The client, Juno Developments originally received planning permission for a block of 8 flats in the centre of Bournemouth, however in those approved plans, the planning officer stated only an internal bin store would be permitted to safeguard visual amenities and prevent harm to the Conservation Area.

Quality or Quantity of New Homes?
