Should We Incentivise New Builds when Retrofit Projects are More Sustainable?

title

Retrofitting is greener than building new but due to VAT incentives, building new is usually a much more commercially viable solution. In a time when we are looking to reduce our carbon footprint and be more sustainable, we believe retrofits should be similarly incentives to promote more sustainable building projects.

Retrofitting can help to improve the energy efficiency of homes, reduce your fuel bills and create comfortable, even temperatures all year round as well as help to eliminate draughts. Retrofits also present the opportunity to improve waste management, use more sustainable construction materials and improve water efficiency.
