A former village hall in a favoured Quantock Hills location is the setting for a sought-after, select housing development.

Nether Stowey Village Hall, Lime Street, dates back more than 100 years and shut in 2022 as it was no longer fit for purpose.

However, the attractive site has outline planning consent for four open market dwellings. It is being sold on behalf of the village hall and recreation ground community interest group, which will use funds from the sale towards a new hall.

The site is guided at £275,000 and is on the market with development land and planning specialists Greenslade Taylor Hunt.

In October 2024 Somerset Council granted outline planning permission for the demolition of the existing village hall and construction of four homes along with parking and improvements to the access.

Currently the plan features two linked detached and two semi-detached three-bedroom homes with parking. There is scope to amend the plans subject to planning approval.

Nether Stowey is a thriving village on the edge of the Quantocks and is conveniently located off the A39 with easy access to Junction 23 of the M5 making it ideal for those commuting to work in Bristol or Exeter.
