Traditional Auction vs Online Auction: which is best for you?

Here at Clive Emson Auctioneers, we offer both live auctions and online auctions, deciding which is better for you comes down to several factors, so let’s take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of each auction type to help you decide on your plan of action.

Live auctions

Clive Emson host live auctions across the south of England. Our live auctions are not only a great place to find your ideal home but are also a fun and exciting day out. This type of auction is a great way to make new friends and network with like-minded people. By talking to others at a live auction you may get an idea of how much lots could go for, get information that could help your bidding decision and get renovation tips from experienced property developers.

Conversely, live auctions require you to have the time to travel to the auction. This could be a whole day or more if the venue is not close to where you live, which involves travel and  food costs and maybe even overnight accommodation costs. Furthermore, you may end up being outbid for what you were after at the end of it all. These are all elements to consider when deciding to attend a live auction. 

Online auction

Our online auction allows you to bid from the comfort of your home wherever you are in the world at the click of a button. This makes it super convenient for those that are not able to attend live auctions. Our own online auction is quick and easy to use and gives you the chance to bid on properties and land in areas further afield than the southern England regions our live auctions focus on. 

While bids can be made at the click of a button, so can mistakes; the ease of use can also make it addictive. To get the best out of an online auction requires a fast internet connection that is not susceptible to crashing or slowing down, otherwise, you may miss out on that lot you had your eye on.
