Re-Opening of Court's and Evictions

Posted by Kilnstone Property on 29th May 2020 -

During Coronavirus, it has been a very difficult time for Landlords and the Housing Authority due to the Government freezing evictions. As you may be aware from March 23rd, landlords, agents and local housing authorities were allput at a standstill with evictions.

On the 10th of May, the Government announced that we would slowly start the process to end the lockdown. A numerous amount of businesses have been able to re-open; including the courts, this means that evictions will be looking to take place in the near future.

However, all courts and money claim schemes have a backlog of cases, which will mean that there will be a major delay when going the through with these cases. Due to this, these cases awaiting to be heard by the courts will become a lengthier process.
