Potential for Development Close to Motorway

Land adjoining the edge of Taunton could be suitable for development according to planning experts Greenslade Taylor Hunt.

The land, South East of Killams Avenue, extends to around 0.89 hectares (2.20 acres) and is bounded by housing, the M5 and agricultural land.

Development and planning experts at Greenslade Taylor Hunt believe it could be suitable for a mix of uses subject to planning consent, although it falls outside the boundary of Taunton.

The planning authority Somerset Council was formed in 2023 as a result of a merger of the district councils and currently the newly formed council is relying on its predecessor’s Local Plan while it formulates a new countywide version.

“This presents an opportunity to promote the land through the emerging Somerset Local Plan, which once adopted, will set the planning policy across the unitary authority area,” explained a GTH spokesman.

The land is being offered for sale at a guide price of £75,000.
