Knowsley-based housing association, Livv Housing Group, has welcomed its first customers to its latest development in Prescot, Merseyside. Ash Grove is a collection of 36 high-quality new homes for affordable rent, providing much-needed housing to meet growing demand in the local area.

Located off Ash Grove, the development features a mix of semi-detached and terraced homes, including ten two-bedroom apartments, ten two-bedroom houses, 14 three-bedroom houses and two four-bedroom houses.

Three new roads – Eden Way, Fielding Court and Gladewood Gardens – have been created.

The site benefits from excellent access to local amenities, with Prescot town centre, schools, Whiston Hospital and Prescot train station all within walking distance. Cultural and leisure attractions such as Shakespeare North Playhouse and Knowsley Safari are also nearby.

Built on former grassland, the Ash Grove development has transformed the area into a vibrant new neighbourhood. Customers have already begun moving in, marking the start of a new chapter for the community.

Yvonne Westhead-Fyles, Director of Development at Livv Housing Group, said: “Ash Grove is a new community built to last. This thoughtfully designed development not only addresses the need for more affordable housing in Prescot, but offers a diverse mix of homes which sees families, couples and professionals alike live side by side in a new neighbourhood. It’s exciting and rewarding seeing them all move in.

“Ash Grove is a great example of how we’re regenerating underused land to build safe, inclusive and welcoming places where local people can truly thrive. We’re incredibly proud to see this project come to fruition – it’s a testament to the hard work, dedication and resilience of everyone involved.”

The development was completed in partnership with Liverpool-based contractor Quinn Developments NW Ltd, with grant funding support from Homes England.

Peter Quinn, Managing Director at Quinn Developments NW Ltd, commented: “We’re proud to have worked in partnership with Livv Housing Group to deliver this fantastic development at Ash Grove. Collaborating closely with the client has been key to project success, and it’s rewarding to see residents already moving into their new homes. As a local contractor, we’re especially pleased to have played a part in providing much-needed, high-quality housing for the Prescot community.”

Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development at Knowsley Council, added: “I’m pleased that the new Ash Grove development will help to meet local housing need in Prescot, particularly through the delivery of the two-bed units and the four-bed properties.”

Shahi Islam, Director of Affordable Housing Grants at Homes England, said: “As the Government’s housing and regeneration agency, increasing the supply of quality affordable homes remains one of our key objectives and we are committed to supporting stakeholders of all sizes to achieve their ambitions.

“Ash Grove is a prime example of how we work collaboratively with partners like Livv Housing Group to achieve our mission of building much needed new communities that people can be proud to call home.”

Ash Grove in Prescot is part of Livv Housing Group’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, affordable housing across the Liverpool City Region and wider North West. The homes at Ash Grove contribute to the 381 new homes Livv has delivered in Knowsley since 2023*.
