Hart District Council has asked people living in the borough to complete a survey to suggest where, within existing towns and villages, they thinks homes could go.

The council’s Settlement Capacity and Intensification Study asks people to highlight potential development sites and regeneration opportunities. It is designed to help indicate how many new homes could be accommodated without building on green fields.

The responses will help create evidence to support future plans.

Cllr Graham Cockarill, portfolio holder for planning policy and place, said: “This is a proactive step to gain a better understanding of the opportunities for regeneration and new homes. Our study will be of immense benefit when we start work, in time, on the next local plan.

“This early work, focusing on brownfield sites and regeneration, will help us in our thinking for a future plan.”
