The Damson Dene Hotel is located in Crosthwaite, a small village in the Parish of Crosthwaite and Lyth in Cumbria. Crossthwaite is contained within the Lyth Valley on the south side of the Lake District National Park. The southern Lake District is easily accessible from the large population centres of North West England including Manchester, Liverpool and their surrounding conurbations. The area is much visited and the potential business that this generates in an attractive part of the country makes the Lake District a sought-after destination for hotel buyers to own a business. The property is approximately 11 miles from junction 36 of the M6 via the A590, leading to Barrow in Furness, and although just four miles from Bowness on Windermere the hotel’s situation is nonetheless regarded as in a prime part of the southern Lake District. The Lake District National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is widely recognised as the UK's most popular national park, with over 15-19 million visitors annually and total visitor spend exceeding £4.5 billion in 2024.
