Powe House is architecturally one of the most outstanding buildings in the area. This late Georgian Period detached house is thought to have been originally constructed around 1797. It later passed to the Birkett family in 1823 and became part of the Powe House Estate in 1854 when it is reputed to have been occupied by the owner of a local lead mine.
Around this time, Victorian additions were made to the house and significant reconfiguration was carried out by the present owners at the beginning of this millennium.
Powe House now benefits from particularly well laid out accommodation with 6 beautifully appointed en suite letting bedrooms as well as separate, self-contained family owners’ accommodation, much more spacious than that normally found in guest houses of this size. The house is complimented by plenty of car parking and landscaped gardens, ideal for family ownership. The property would also lend itself to reverting to a large family home if desired, subject to the appropriate permissions.
