Cedar Manor is a real ''Lakeland gem'' - a delightful, detached property, originally built as a gentleman’s country retreat in 1854 just after the railway came to the village. To its East lies the honeypot tourist villages of Bowness and Ambleside and on to Grasmere, while to the West you can lose yourself in a haven of tranquility and quiet charm, which drew Beatrix Potter to come and live at Sawrey. Whether a seasoned high-level walker out for felltop vistas or just a stroll by the lake shore, this beautiful area of the Lake District National Park – now also a UNESCO World Heritage Site - brings an ever-increasing number of tourists to the area throughout the year. Over the years, Cedar Manor has been comprehensively improved and extended with a major extension being added in 1989 by a previous owner, who had the foresight to build larger-than-average size rooms to reflect the character of the original house. The present owners bought Cedar Manor in 2007 and have continued the improvements to the house, transforming it into one of he most luxurious providers of bed and breakfast accommodation in the area. Having enjoyed their years at Cedar Manor and successfully raised their family, the owners are now looking to retire from the hospitality industry and pass on this wonderful property and business to new owners.
