Public Areas
The public areas are mainly in the original hotel building. Entrance lobby from Front Street at ground floor level leading to a large open bar with circa 100 covers and panoramic views of the Metrocentre and Newcastle upon Tyne. To the front of the building is the impressive Bowes Suite; a generous function room with a capacity of 100 ideal for wedding ceremonies and receptions, featuring a bar servery and outlook onto Whickham Front Street. From the rear of the hotel is a second entrance at lower ground floor level leading into an attractive and recently refurbished reception lobby which provides access to the rest of the hotel. Directly on this level is the recently refurbished and atmospheric Strathmore restaurant with circa 150 covers. It benefits from its own reception area, bar and private dining room for around 20. Completing the public areas is a small board room in the additional bedroom extension which has seating for up to 20 delegates.
