Village pub/restaurant with 6 well appointed letting rooms, set in a beautiful village location
Location
Armathwaite is a pleasant Cumbrian village which lies on the River Eden. The village is home to Armathwaite Castle, a four storey pele tower in a glorious position on the river, and Eden Gorge, one of Cumbria’s best kept secrets, situated between Lazonby and Armathwaite. The village is located on the splendid Carlisle to Settle railway and its surrounding woodland and countryside are popular with walkers. The village is 12 miles south-east of Carlisle and 12 north of Penrith.
Armathwaite lies off the A6 which links to the M6 motorway, providing access to Carlisle, Scotland and the north-west of England, whilst the A66 connects the village to the Lake District and The Yorkshire Dales.
The property, which dates back to circa 1850, is a two storey building which appears to be of brick construction with black and white painted elevations under a pitched slate roof.
