Location

Built in 1732, The George Inn is set within the stunning, picturesque village of Thoralby, in the Richmondshire District of North Yorkshire. Thoralby is located within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and lies south of Aysgarth where the incredible Aysgarth Falls can be seen. It is within a mile of both Newbiggin and West Burton and is 23.5 miles southwest of the county town of Northallerton.

The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside and rolling hills, meaning it is a very popular area for tourists, including many from overseas. The George Inn occupies a character two-storey character detached public house of stone construction under a pitched slate roof and briefly comprises:-

TRADE AREAS

The main entrance is at the front of the building via a vestibule. Once in the bar, you are greeted by a wonderful feeling of history with traditional beams, part wood-panelled walls and a beautiful wood style SERVERY. There are wooden seats/benches for 24 with a gas fireplace at one end of the pub and a simply divine, open brick fireplace with multi fuel burner at the other. Around all the walls are collections of ornaments from all over the world, although many of these are the owners’ private possessions which add to the splendour of this hidden gem. There is a darts board in the corner.

A well equipped CATERING KITCHEN is positioned at the rear and has its own access. Adjoined to the kitchen is another good-sized PREPARATION ROOM. There is a CONSERVATORY at the back of the premises which has stone walls and incredible views out over the back garden and hills where cattle graze.

The CELLAR is positioned close to the bar and is set at the bar level. It is very well organised and nicely cooled with the relevant equipment, as you would expect from a Cask Marque Accredited member.

OWNERS ACCOMMODATION

The first floor is a good size and could be adapted to provide a couple of letting rooms (if required by the new owner to maximise profits). The first floor currently consists of a guest toilet at the top of the stairs, a very spacious LOUNGE which looks out onto the dales at the front of the pub, a large double BEDROOM with recently modernised en suite BATHROOM, a family DINING ROOM and a STUDY at the end of the building.

LETTING ACCOMMODATION

There is a detached stone building at the side of the pub which has been converted into two stunning large double BEDROOMS with en suite BATHROOMS.

EXTERNAL

There is a CAR PARK for at least 7 cars at the front of the pub, along with outdoor seating. The GENTLEMEN’S and LADIES’ TOILETS are both accessed via outside doors but are within the main building.
