Medomsley is a very attractive village in the north-west of County Durham, approximately 4 miles from Consett and bounded by Ebchester, Burnopfield, Annfield Plain and Stanley. The Royal Oak overlooks Manor Road, the B6310, which is a very busy and popular route, running through Medomsley on the way to and from north-west Durham. Consett is nearby and is a much larger town with a population of around 25,000.

The Business

The pub is operated by a husband and wife team with several full and part-time members of staff. Having built the business up after the lockdowns of 2020-21 our clients are looking to move on to their next challenge.

The Royal Oak is mentioned in the Good Beer Guide from CAMRA and has a rating of 4.5/5 from TripAdvisor.

The split on takings is approximately 50/50 but the pub is well known for its food offering and operates an ‘eat anywhere’ policy with dining for around 60 in the two areas with more outside on pleasant days. The overall GP is around 60%.
