The Opportunity

Waverley Borough Council are looking for proposals from interested parties to take over the operation of this popular leisure facility. The Council are looking for someone who is able to maintain and ideally expand the service and facility offering to the benefit of the local community so as to service not just the golfers but also all visitors to the park (including dog walkers, sports clubs, picnickers, cricketers etc). Whilst the level of rent payable is important this is by no means the deciding factor when bids are being considered. We are not quoting a rent and proposals are invited.

The 6.214 hectares (15.355 acres) provides an exciting opportunity to continue to develop, diversify and expand the recreational and leisure activities on the site and the Council is actively encouraging diverse and forward thinking ideas.

Initially a 3 year lease will be available but assuming the new operator performs well and continues to operate the facility to the benefit of the local community then Waverley Borough Council would be looking to grant a longer term commitment.

The current operator has the benefit of an alcohol licence which enables the sale of alcohol on and off the premises. This is restricted and no sales are allowed before 11.00 a.m. weekdays and 12.00 a.m. on Sundays. The cafe is allowed to remain open until 11.00 p.m. all year round.
