The iconic former Barclays Bank building, constructed in 1902, is set to become the London branch of the renowned School of Rock franchise.

Located at 2 York Street, Twickenham, TW1 3LE, this new location promises to enhance the area’s rich musical heritage. Situated near Eel Pie Island, a historic site for legendary bands like the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and David Bowie, the School of Rock aims to continue this legacy.

As the largest music school franchise in the United States, School of Rock has expanded to 16 countries over two decades. Known for its patented, performance-based curriculum, the school helps aspiring musicians master skills, unleash creativity, and develop essential life tools. The Twickenham branch will compete with the British School of Rock in Orleans Park, offering a unique opportunity for local talent to thrive.

Bob Jones, a seasoned leader with over a decade of experience at the School of Rock in New York City, will oversee the Twickenham location. Under his guidance, the New York branch achieved record student enrolment and revenue. Bob’s innovative ideas and business acumen are expected to drive the success of the Twickenham school.

The franchise plans to expand to 11 locations across the UK, further solidifying its presence. With a quote from the film “The School of Rock” stating, “You are not hardcore until you live hardcore,” the Twickenham branch is set to inspire a new generation of musicians, adding to Richmond’s vibrant musical scene.
