Non-residential property transactions are on the rise

HMRC data, reporting property transactions, shows level of activity in the UK property market in a given month and can act as a barometer providing insight into market confidence.

As such we felt it would be useful to provide the HMRC data for non-residential transactions as they become available on a monthly basis. Going forward we will be able to report in our Quarterly Return if there is a correlation between these statistics and our work with commercial property developers.

Further report highlights

  • The provisional seasonally adjusted count of non-residential property transactions increased by 8.9% between February 2019 and March 2019, and is 9.7% higher than March 2018.
  • Year-on-year, non-adjusted non-residential transactions in March 2019 were approximately 9.2% higher than March 2018.
  • The seasonal non-residential pattern generally features a low point at the start of the calendar year, with a corresponding peak each March, coinciding with the end of the financial year.
