At Global Home Warranties, our charity work is very important to us. As a team and a business, we feel that it is really important to support our communities and give something back. We are delighted that we have been able to support Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Charity.
Each year, our Team are invited to nominate charities across our UK, Ireland and Northern Ireland regions. From the nominations Team members put forward, one charity for each region is randomly selected.
SAND‘s was selected by our UK Office as our charity of the year. The stillbirth and neonatal death charity is the UK’s leading baby loss charity. For over 40 years, the charity has provided accredited bereavement support to parents following their loss, for as long as they need. Sands provide support to over 185,000 families and healthcare professionals who are impacted by the loss of a pregnancy or death of a baby each year. 250,000 known pregnancies end in miscarriage and sadly, 14 babies die every day in the UK.
It is undeniable that 2020 was a challenging year for everyone but the Covid-19 Pandemic and working from home did not deter the Team at GHW from really getting behind SAND’s to fundraise. As things begin to return to normal, our Business Development Executive, Iain Corcoran had a Zoom meeting with Vicky Luk, Strategic Partnership Manager at SAND’s to “virtually” handover our donation of £2221.
Iain said, “It is my pleasure, on behalf of Global Home Warranties, to present SAND’s with our donation. We’re delighted to be supporting the valuable work that they do. We hope our donation will go some way to helping families in need of the amazing support the charity offer.”
Vicky commented, “Thank you so much for your amazing fundraising and donation of £2221. We are so grateful for your support which enables us to reach even more families and NHS staff from their very first point of need. We are proud to work with our partners to raise awareness of pregnancy and baby loss to end the stigma of seeking help after a bereavement. Thank you, for your generosity.”
